so I was told that I can get color faxes if I am hooked to a digital phone line - but I can not figure out how to do that. HELP!

None of that addresses the issue of the color fax receipt. Your phone support said that it can not be turned off. Well, since it was never turned off why am I getting faxes in grey scale?

HP Digital Fax supports receiving black-and-white faxes only. Color faxes are printed instead of being saved. Refer to the User Guide page 14 for details.
