I have suddenly received a scan fail error. I have removed and reinstalled the software and tried the recommended fix. I am still receiving the error.I can print and make copies with no problem.

If you are able to make copies, it means the scanner hardware is working fine.
Are you using the HP Smart app to scan or the full-feature printer software?
Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix scanning'.
If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Use the HP Scan Extended app to scan and check if that helps.
Click here to download the app.
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
