Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

Hi everyone, I'm writing to you because I have an HP Officejet 8010 printer that has been having some problems for a few months now. Luckily, I've managed to solve almost all of them except one. Specifically, I am unable to complete the printhead alignment procedure due to the failure to scan the printed page. Unfortunately, if I don't complete the process in a little under a month, I'll be back to square one and will have to redo the entire process. If anyone can offer me any advice, tips, or suggestions, I'd be very grateful. If it helps, I still have Windows 10 installed on my computer. Bye.

Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand how frustrating it can be when the printhead alignment process fails due to a scan issue. Let's walk through a few steps to help resolve this and get your HP OfficeJet 8010 back on track.

Check Scanner Glass and Lid

  • Make sure the scanner glass is clean and free of dust, smudges, or fingerprints.
  • Ensure the lid closes properly and the alignment page is placed face down on the scanner glass as indicated by the alignment guide.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
  • Retry the alignment process.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause scanning and alignment issues.

Reset the Printer

  • Disconnect the power cord while the printer is on.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and turn the printer back on.

Try Alignment via HP Smart App

Sometimes the alignment works better via the app:

  • Download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. HP Smart
  • Add your printer and go to Settings > Print Quality Tools > Align Printhead.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
