Everything with my OfficeJetPro 9015 works fine with the exception of the scanning. I have to unplug the printer every time I want to scan something.
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues scanning.

How is the printer connected to your computer?
What is the operating system you are using?
Meanwhile, I recommend you update the printer firmware following the steps in the below article and check whether the issue is resolved.
