I have a DESKJET 2652 that has been working fine for several years: printing, copying, scanning,etc, All connections are fine (SB) as theyalso have been for years..all of a sudden todat I can't scan!!..why is that? i went thru all ther trouble shooting tips , and down loaded new drivers..still nothing..????????????

I have an older LJ printer and occasionally this happens to me.
In HP Smart, bring up the "tool" and click on "Start" to run diagnostics.
Once diagnostics finish the HP Smart app works.  I do not know why,

but his seems to fix it for me.

 

You might also check the HP folder and see if "HP Scan" is there

That app came with my original HP LJ driver software and can scan to 1200dpi unlike HP Smart that only does 300dpi.
