scanning produces vertical colored lines

Hi

I am also having this problem.  My HP Envy Photo 6230 was scanning, printing and copying fine and now suddenly scanning and copying produce a page full of vertical coloured lines.  I've followed several links from solutions to the same problem but all of them say page cannot be found.  Can anyone help?

@PIOTTO1, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

This clearly is a scanner failure. Follow the steps below-

 

Reset the printer and check the power source

Reset the printer to clear certain error states, and then check the power source to make sure the printer is getting enough power to operate the copier.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer, disconnect the power cord from the power source, and then wait 30 seconds.

  2. If you are using a power strip or multi-plug adapter, connect the cord directly to a wall outlet to make sure the printer is getting enough power.

  3. Reconnect the power cord to the printer, and then try making a copy.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
