scanning to network folder from printer

recently had to reinstall windows and now cannot properly set up to scan from the printer to  network folder. I am the only user & the network is my desktop. printer is directly connected to my router. issue could be proper recording network path for network folder setup. complete path to folder on C drive is "C:\Users\donbr\Documents\Scanned Documents". not clear how to set this up for the network folder path and if computer name is to be included in the path or if scan folder name is also included in path. Scanning from the document feeder worked before windows was reinstalled.  Single page scanning does work by  useing the HP Scan windows program to initiate scan

Common "gotchas" (things to watch / check)

In general, although Windows can use DNS / Host file, it is not set up to do so.

Use the IP address when mapping remote (non local machines / NAS / storage servers).

Once the device is Mapped, use the assigned device letter.

Switch on CIFS File Sharing in Programs and Features > Windows Features

Do not tighten the UAC too much.

If you are comfortable on the computer and with your skill set, just ignore the "not recommended" message.

Make sure the destination folder is shared, that is, the folder provides the appropriate "read / write" access for any account sending data to the folder.

Use a Windows password and not a PIN number to allow / provide any necessary account login access.

NOTE:  This is different from the PIN used to provide access to the Scan to Network application on the printer.

If supported, Scan to Network Folder might be configured using the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
