Hi @nimshie29,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the error message you're encountering indicates that the HP Smart Tank 7005 software is missing a critical DLL file (HPStatusBL.dll) after a Windows reset. This file is necessary for the printer software to function properly.

Here are some steps to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Reinstall the Printer Software

Uninstall the current HP printer software:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter to open the Programs and Features window.
  • Find any entries related to your HP Smart Tank 7005 printer, right-click on them, and select Uninstall.

Download the latest printer software:

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Smart Tank 7005) in the search bar.
  • Select your operating system (Windows 10, 64-bit) if not automatically detected.
  • Download the full feature software package.

Install the downloaded software:

  • Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
  • This process should replace any missing files and ensure the printer software is correctly installed.

Step 2: Update Windows and Drivers

Ensure Windows is fully updated:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click on Check for updates and install any available updates.

Update drivers via Device Manager:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Printers and locate your HP Smart Tank 7005 printer.
  • Right-click on the printer and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Step 3: Repair Missing or Corrupted System Files

  1. Run the System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Imaging Service and Management Tool (DISM):
    • Type cmd in the Windows search bar, right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.
    • In the Command Prompt, type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:

      sfc /scannow
      DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    • Wait for the scans to complete and follow any instructions provided.

Step 4: Check HP Support Assistant

  • HP Support Assistant can help find and install the latest drivers and software updates for your HP products.
    • Download and install HP Support Assistant if you don't have it.
    • Open HP Support Assistant and allow it to scan for updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
