Officejet pro 8600 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The latest software for my Officejet 8600 all in one takes Approx. 20 seconds for the scanner software page to load, why the delay?

Printing is fine and scanning once the page loads is fine, just not sure why the 20 second delay for the scanner software.

FYI connected Via WIFI. This was never a problem with older versions of the driver set/software

Which software / application?

If the application to which you refer is HP Smart, the change is related to the recent updates.

HP Smart requires sign-in to the application (using your HP Account credentials).

The "delay" is likely a result of the application having to start Cloud Services in preparation to use the app.

No, there is no "going back".

If you wish to do so, open HP Smart and leave it open (minimized) during your session.

In most cases, the app is happy to sit in the background and wait for you to use it.

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Main Menu
