@OldRusty1950, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're trying to scan using your HP Smart Tank 7302 on macOS 15.0 Sequoia, and you're wondering which app enables scanning.

To scan with your HP Smart Tank 7302 on macOS 15, you should use the HP Smart app/HP App, available from the Mac App Store. However, due to recent macOS updates, some users have experienced issues with scanning features missing or not working. Here's how to resolve it:

Step-by-Step Fix

Update HP Smart App/HP App

Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer: Power off, wait 60 seconds, then power on.
  • Restart your Mac to clear temporary glitches.

Re-add Printer in System Settings

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Remove the printer by clicking the button.
  • Re-add it using the + button and select your HP Smart Tank 7302.

Scan Using HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart.
  • Click Printer Scan from the home screen.
  • Choose scan type: Document, Photo, or Batch.
  • Adjust settings like Resolution, Color, and Input Source.
  • Click Scan, then Save to your desired folder.

Troubleshooting Tips

If scanning still doesn’t work, try disabling iCloud Backup in HP Smart:

  • Open HP Smart > Settings > App Settings > Back up to iCloud → Disable.
  • Choose Keep on my Mac when prompted.

Ensure your printer and Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network.

If the app still doesn’t detect the scanner, consider using HP Easy Scan (available via HP Easy Start) for extended scanning features.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
