My wife just bought me a new HP Envy 5660 and I installed it this morning.  My first job was to scan a black and white document so I could email it.  The scanned image (digital file) has a large yellow stripe across it (looks exactly like an inch of a yellow legal pad, but slightly pixilated).  The scan bed is clean, there is nothing there but my new one page document.  

 

Worst of all, I tried to reach HP's warrantee support and they tell me the unit was made in 2017 and is out of warrantee.  It is brand new and we just took the stickers off of it!

I understand you are facing th scan quality issue.

 

To assist better -When and Where was the printer purchased?

Do you have the bill?

 

Meanwhile, Submit a product warranty status dispute

If you think the product warranty details from the Product Warranty Check website are incorrect, submit a dispute.

From the HP Product Warranty Check results for your product, click Dispute this to display the Warranty validation form.

NOTE:

If the dispute link does not display, the product might be a commercial product, which cannot be disputed online.

 

Type your contact information, and then select a Dispute reason.

If prompted to upload the proof of purchase, click Choose File, and then double-click the proof of purchase file to upload it.

NOTE:

Make sure the file does not exceed 2 MB and is an acceptable digital file format: .bmp, .doc, .docx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .pdf, or .zip.

Click Dispute warranty.

HP reviews the warranty status for your product and contacts you after the review.
