When I try send a fax, there is a dialtone, the machine rings and beeps, but it won't connect to the other machine. Fax log reports No Answer. The Fax test passes. I finally sent a fax through UPS to the number and it went straight through.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

Call the recipient to ensure that the fax machine is on and ready.

Check that you are dialing the correct fax number.

If the product continues to redial, unplug the product telephone cord from the wall, plug in a telephone, and try making a voice call.

Make sure that the phone cord from the wall telephone jack is plugged into the 1-Line port on the printer.

Plug the product phone cord into a jack for another phone line.

Try a different phone cord.

Also, please follow the steps in this document: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8710-all-in-one-printer-series/7902014/documen...
