I've been using smart tasks to scans receipts and documents from ADF scanner.  The issue i'm coming into is that even though i have paper size set to 8.5x11, the scanner ends up spitting out pdfs where every page is a slightly different size (ie, one page is 6.67 x 8.57, next will be 5.57 x 7.5, next page is 7.8 x 10.1  even though the original document was all the same 8.5 x 11 size.  This is extremely frustrating and was wondering if there a way to rectify this issue and force scanner to output properly.

Welcome to HP support community.

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

The problem is that my issue has nothing to do with Windows or driver installations.  My 9025 printer has a smart task that scans straight from printer and sends OCR pdfs to Evernote and Onedrive.  The outputted pdfs all come out in the wrong size from both the ADF scanner and even the flatbed scanner.

Try to scan from different application and check if that works fine?

Here are the steps for Using the HP Scan and Capture App (Windows 8 and 10).

Update the printer firmware.

Refer this HP document or the steps to update firmware:- Click here

I hope that helps.

I believe i was able to pinpoint the issue.  In the smart tasks options, when i choose to have the scanner run OCR on the document and make a readable PDF is when the issue of pdf page sizes being all different comes up.  If i do a regular scan to pdf without OCR, the issue goes away.  Is this something that would be fixed with an upcoming firmware update or would resetting printer help?  Or is my printer just straight out defective?

Other issue i'm having is that every since page that goes through ADF comes out a little crooked.  Something i've read about elsewhere. Any fix for this issue yet?

This might require remote access of the printer to fix this issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.
