An extra black area beyond the flatbed appears on scans and copies

Hp Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Whenever i try to scan or copy the page the extra black area gets scanned or printed. When I change the scan area using hp software from entire area to a4 or letter the problem get solved for scanning but how can I solve the same issue for copying the page?

@ArunBunki

Welcome to HP support community.

Check the scanner bar functionality: partially lift the scanner lid, and then press the Copy button or icon. If the scanner light does not illuminate or move across the glass.

Meanwhile:

Align the printer

  1. Load plain white paper in the paper tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, press the down arrow  to select Align Printer, and then press OK.

    The printer prints a test page, and then prompts you to scan the page.

  3. Place the alignment page with the print side down on the scanner glass. Position it according to the engraved guides around the glass.

  4. Close the scanner lid, and then touch OK.

Let me know how it goes.

@ArunBunki

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.
