I have a HP ENVY 5010 connected to my computer through WIFI and have been having problems trying to scan from it via the HP Smart App. When clicking on "Scan" on the HP Smart App, the app pops up a message saying "HP cannot scan from this printer."
I have updated the drivers with the latest drivers available from HP's driver software page, have tried using the HP Print and Scan Doctor with no success, rebooted the computer. I have successfully been able to print via WIFI. I'm unsure what the problem could be.
In order to palliate this issue, try the following solution:
Open the HP Smart app.
In HP Smart, right-click the printer icon, then click Forget this printer, and then Forget Printer.
Close the HP Smart app.
Restart the computer.
Open the HP Smart app, and then add your printer again.
Try to scan.
