HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in

Doesn't matter if I try to enable Fax Service from the printer itself or via software on my PC I get the same message, "The fax feature has been disabled. For more information, contact system administrator or the person who set up the printer." I am both of those people, so now what do I do??

Hi Rainbow23

First let me start with thank you very much for your reply. I resolved the issue myself by logging into the Embedded Web Server>Settings>Security>Administrator Settings and checked Fax and after rebooting the printer I was able to access all of the fax settings again.

HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One

Embedded Web Server = https://192.168.0.224/#hId-pgAdminSettings

The reason I didn't know to check there is varied, but the main reason should be the topic of my next support request: 1.) Not a single error message directed me to this location (I made dozens of attempts from three different places: the printer, computer software and the Embedded Web Server).

2.) [Main reason] I was disconnected or my admin login was disabled by an HP Tech Support agent because they could not figure out how to make the Embedded Web Server "Secure" , even after I directed them to the following web site about 20 minutes watching him repeat the sames steps over and over again: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95617?visit_id=1-636406939945706821-1093707371&p=ui_securit...

We suggest you don't enter any private or personal information on this page. If possible, don't use the site.

Not secure: Proceed with caution. Something is severely wrong with the privacy of this site’s connection. Someone might be able to see the information you send or get through this site.

You might see a "Login not secure" or "Payment not secure" message.

Dangerous: Avoid this site. If you see a full-page red warning screen, the site has been flagged as unsafe by Safe Browsing. Using the site will likely put your private information at risk.

After completing dismissing my advice I was told to simply ignore the Warning. Being a former IT Tech Support for a major environment agency I found this unacceptable, but didn't persue the issue any further until now several months later. I am actually surprised to see that it is still an issue. I can't believe that I am the only customer who has this problem, and yet it remains unsolved. The resolution I found most promising was to obtain a better site certificate from you guys. [I will go ahead and copy the above comments into a new support request as mentioned earlier]

Thanks again for your reply.
