Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,  Always getting following  error message  when scanning on flatbed glass :

Scanner unreachable.   Scanner  communication cannot be established.  Ensure your product is powered on,  check the connection,  and ensure your network is working properly.  If these condiations are correct , restart product and try scanning again.

Can wery often scan with feeder (A4) without any problem.  When I scan on flatbed glass I always get the error message and can't scan.  Have use the HP and MS scan doctors.  The scan doctor can't fix this probelm.

I suggest you do a Hard Reset on the printer

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Check if the copy is working fine from the scanner bed?

Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-7610-wide-format-e-all-in-one-series/5153788/docum...

Restart the printer.

I am having  same problem but with HP Photosmart C5280.  Have followed all instructions, upgrading, installations - get to test scan and all works well. Try to scan another document but it doesn't work and have to go through everything again and only way I can scan is to test scan.  Then yes you've guessed - go through whole lot again!

Can you make a stand-alone copy on the printer?

Can you print from the computer?

Keep me posted.

Have a great day!
