I cannot scan directly to my computer from my HP ENVY 5030 printer. Each time I try the screen shows a message saying software is required.
I can scan from using the HP Smart app on my MacBook, but that isn't the issue. I shouldn't need to go back and forth from my computer to the printer when scanning documents.
I know that this problem has been raised by other uses, but have not been able to find the solution.

HP Easy Scan is not currently supported on Catalina, meaning that scanning from the front panel will not work till the app compatibility with the operating system will be provided in the future:

When will the issue be resolved? The work-around provided (to use Apple Image Capture) appears to be no different to using the HP Print application, which I am successfully using now.
