Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

When will HP provide us with a new version of EASY SCAN / HP Smart compatible with MAC OS Catalina? We have been waiting for a solution for more than 3 months. HP makes fun of APPLE users. The next printer I buy will certainly not be an HP. Unacceptable.

The lack of a working software package for Catalina and HP scanner is both inexplicable and untenable. In my business as a software provider, if we were unable to provide software updates that permitted full function to our customers in 48 hrs or less we would lose a massive amount of those customers. I will not be purchasing any additional HP products in the future, consumer or business, after seeing this huge gap in customer support. With 55,000 employees world wide Im quite sure HP could have delivered a fix to this paralyzing problem if they deemed it business critical. This is a huge miss HP!

macOS 10.15.3 (released 1/28/2020) contains the fix for this issue.  Once updated HP Easy Scan will be able to scan from the glass or the ADF as normal.

 

Scan to Computer is also fixed with 10.15.3.

 

I did notice that if the printer is in sleep mode, some times an error will be reported.  But if you wake the printer by inserting a page in the ADF or touching the screen you will be able to scan normally.
