Envy 5640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The "Scan to email" function opens the wrong email program. Outlook 2016 is set to default mail client and it had worked fine, until a couple of days ago, where we had to install IBM Notes on the PC. Now it open Notes everytime we want to send a scanned document. Outlook 2016 is set default mail program. Doesn't the ENVY scanner use the default mail program and where can we change which program it uses to send mails?

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, you wish to set Outlook as a default mail program,

I'd like to thank you for the detailed description of your concern, as you have ensured I don't have to ask any more questions, that said,

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Load the original print side down on the right front corner of the scanner glass.

2. Touch Scan and then touch Email.

3. On the control panel display, select the account that you want to use, and touch Continue.

This should help you in setting up your Outlook email as default.

You could refer to the User Guide of your printer: https://hp.care/2tyKt1b (Page Number: 43 and 44).

Let me know how this goes,

Cheers 🙂
