Chrome OS

I have an HP chromebook and the HP Envy 5055. I finally figured out how to scan from the chromebook to the printer. However, now it won't scan. I keep getting an error message in the PDF viewer chrome extension that states "missing PDF file" When I click on "More information" I get this message... PDF.js v2.3.164 (build: 12ff2527)
Message: Missing PDF[edit]

Virtual assistant doesn't help since it doesn't recognize chromebook as a possible operating system.

@ShyanneGentry Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support and we appreciate your patience.

That said, here's all you need to know about scanning using the Chromebook:

Scan with Webscan

Access the Webscan feature in the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) to save scans to a Chromebook.

  1. Connect the printer to the same wireless network that the Chromebook is connected to.

    • Printers with touchscreen or text-based menus: Select the Setup, Network, or Wireless menu to start the Wireless Setup Wizard. When prompted, select the name of your local network, and then follow the on-screen instructions to enter the network password to complete the connection.

    • Printers with buttons only: Press and hold the Wireless button for at least 3 seconds or until the light starts blinking, and then press the WPS button on the router. When the wireless light on the printer is solid, the connection is complete.
