Computer can't find printer to add

[ Edited ]
Product Name: HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One Printer series - N911
Operating System: macOS 10.12 Sierra

Someone help!

So my printer goes through this [edit] where it won't scan to my computer, and I have removed it and then reinstall it.  Unfortunatley this time my computer, Macbook Air, can't even find the printer.  I've tried resetting it and all, but it won't come up.  Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Computer can't find printer to add

Hi,

That may happen due to any router issue, not allowing multicast traffic.

Please go to System Preferences > Print & Scan.

Click the plus sign and select the IP tab.

Select the HP Jetdirect protocol and set teh Address as the printer's IP address.

Press Add and try printing using the newly added print queue.

May you able to see any difference?

Please let me know if you are able to print using this method

Re: Computer can't find printer to add

Hi,

How is the printer connected to your Mac? with a USB, ethernet or wirelessly?

Please clarify the following so we may guide you further accordingly

Re: Computer can't find printer to add

Hi,

Please ensure the printer is connected by tapping the WiFi icon.

Take a note of the printer IP address and try accessing it from your browser, can you access it?

If the printer may not be connected tap Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults, then open teh Network menu again and follow the Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect it.

If it is connected and can be accessed try rebooting yoru router by unplugging it for 30 sec, plug it back and allow it 2 minutes to start.

Next reboot the printer and chanck for any change,

Shlomi

Re: Computer can't find printer to add

I can access the EWS for the printer, and could even print out a test page, but my computer is still not finding the printer.  What gives?
