After being quite noisy my document feeder will not work.  New Printer on horizon or can it be fixed.  Have downloaded all of the updates.

Almost anything can be fixed.

 

Consumer grade printers limit that you can do - many of the parts are not "user" accessible.  A good printer technician can repair most of what can break - whether it is worth the time, hassle, and money depends on the printer's age, condition, warranty status, and "how much you love the printer".

The document includes instructions on how to clean the ADF (Step 3).

 

Give everything a good cleaning - read and follow everything else in the document that appears even "likely".  For example, if you have not done so, try some different paper (after the cleaning).  Sometimes the paper is actually the culprit - too damp, too dry, curled, thin, thick...
