Firmware update and Envy 5540 wont copy

HP Recommended

Hi,

I cant copy from the machine itself or from any software on my MacBook, or IOS device.

I have tried to update the software but I cant via the printer or again software.

I have removed the printer from my mac and the drivers and re-installed them, however it still wont work.

So at the moment I can purely print from the printer.

Any ideas on how to help, or a hard reset of the printer

@JamieC902 Here's a few steps that should help resolve the issue:

Step 1: Verify the cartridge numbers

Make sure the cartridge numbers match your printer and where the country/region the printer was purchased.

Go to HP Store and verify the cartridge numbers for your printer model and country/region. Replace any incompatible cartridges.

Step 2: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

HI, I have tried these steps and it has not fixed the issue. I have gone into the secret menu and tried to test the scanner. This still does not work, so I presume the scanner motor is at fault? Any other ideas?

Thanks.
