Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

Let's uninstall printer drivers and reinstall it again:

The HP Uninstaller is a software application that is installed during the initial printer software installation.

  1. Click Finder in the Dock.

  2. In the menu bar, click Go, click Applications, and then open the HP or Hewlett Packard folder.

    • If HP Uninstaller is in the folder, double click it, and then follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.

    • If HP Uninstaller is not in the folder, continue to the next step.

  3. Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.

  4. In the menu bar, click Go, click Go to Folder, type /Library/Printers, then click Go.

    The Printers folder opens.

  5. Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.

  6. Restart the Mac.

  7. Right-click or Ctrl + click the Trash icon, and then select Empty Trash.

If you have any issues uninstalling with the HP Uninstaller, try uninstalling with HP Easy Start.

For OS X 10.9 and newer, download HP Easy Start, and then use the software application to uninstall your HP software.

  1. Go to https://hp.care/2JPh3Ai, and then click Download.

  2. After the software downloads, open HP Easy Start.

  3. Click File, and then select Uninstall HP Software... from the menu.

    Figure: Select Uninstall HP Software...

    Select Uninstall HP Software...
  4. Read any warnings that display, and then click Continue.

  5. When prompted, type your administrator user name and password.

  6. HP Uninstaller removes all HP printer software previously installed.

  7. If you are reinstalling the HP printer software, click Set Up New Device, and then follow the instructions to install the printer with HP EasyStart.

Once completed, reinstall drivers from the link: https://hp.care/2JOP2ZH.

Try scanning and let me know how this goes,

Cheers 🙂

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your printer does not scan,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Are you able to make a photocopy?

Are you able to print?

If the printing is working fine, please download HP Easy Scan app from app store,

Let me know how it goes,

For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,

And your device is up and running again,

Have a great day 🙂

Cheers 🙂

HI Flower_Bud,

Please see below

When was the last time it worked fine?

A couple of months ago.  I do not frequently scan to file.  When this first occured I scan to a memory stick inserted into the printer

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Just normal OS updates as pushed by Apple

Are you able to make a photocopy?

Yes and I can scan to a memory stick inserted into the printer

Are you able to print?

Prints fine

Down loaded HP easy scan app before I posted.  It crashed also.
