When I press the scan symbol on the printer it tells me to download the software. I already did that!

I have the same problem, but use MacOsX 10.11.6 El Capitan.

I already installed the MacOs software (HP Smart for MacOs).

But the display of the printer still states I should install the software.

Found the solution for me. I had to install all packages of the HP Easy Start app.

Now it is working.
