HP Office Jet Pro 9010
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My new HP Office Jet Pro 9010 doesn't seem to scan more than one page at a time using the sheet feeder. I loaded a 3 page document, the 9010 showed document loaded, and then I tried to scan to PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (release 2019.012) However only one page gets scanned. Shouldn't the device recognize it has another page each time and keep scanning?

Earlier I tried to send same 3 pages by fax, and it only  scanned first page. Not sure if it is a fax issue at receiving end or what, because the 9010 screen really doesn't show any status as to what is happening.

Hello Sandytechy20,

Neither thing you suggested seemed to work.  It is a brand new 3 in 1, so it would not seem rollers need cleaning, and as I will say later, it is not a roller problem. I tried the Update the printer firmware and ended up having the process install the HP Smart software, which I assume updated the firmware too, as it completed the install steps.

After doing the install, I tried to scan a 15 page document via the document feeder, using (1) Adobe Acrobat Pro DC again, (2) HP Smart software, and (3) Windows Fax and Scan.

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and HP Smart software only took the first page, and that was it – same as before. However, Windows Fax and Scan took all 15 pages. Windows Fax and Scan scanned to 15 image files.

So now I wonder, why/how can it be that Windows Fax and Scan scanned all 15 pages, but Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and HP Smart software only took the first page in the document feeder and that was it??

Perform root level uninstalltion to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install HP easy start to install the printer driver again

I hope that helps.

Remove only this driver "HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series Basic Device Soft" from the list.

I hope that helps.
