I believe there is a driver issue with my HP Printer Assistant as the Fax Button never responds when I press it to Fax from the computer.  All other fax features work as with the faxing itself, from the printer, with providing all of the fax logs with no errors.  How do I troubleshoot the Fax Button on my HP Printer Assistant so that I may find out what the problem is?

Hi,

This is probably a software problem indeed.

 

Please make sure the HP Printer Assistant application is closed, then open the Control Panel and select Uninstall a Program.

Locate the HP Officejet 3830 Basic Device Software and click on Repair, then confirm any prompt to complete the repair.

 

If the process may hang and require an installation source, cancel it and click Uninstall instead.

Next, download and reinstall the latest software below:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL61240/mp-147826-1/OJ3830_Full_WebPack_1119.exe

Hi,
