HP OfficeJet 5255 Scanning: Wonky/skewed

HP OfficeJet 5255
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I just bought an OfficeJet 5255 printer/scanner which is producing scans from the glass bed that are skewed a few degrees. I've seen a couple of other similar posts but not related to the 5255 and the solutions seemed to be about printing being off rather than scanning (it seems to print fine).

Thanks in advance!

Edit: When opening the top tray to look at the glass, I can see that the black scanning component is off slightly. I've also tried the scanning the alignment page.

Welcome to HP support community.

This seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
