HP Photosmart 7520
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My Photosmart has always been fine scanning to E mail, I last used the facility about 3-4 months ago.  However I tried it today and get the on screen message 'Server Connection Error', Unable to connect to Web Services. Confirm internet access and try again. I have run the wireless network test and the result is no problems found. I see that this same question/problem was previously posted by another user on 02.10.17 and a printet firmware link was provided which resolved the problem. However the link is no longer valid. Can anyone help please?

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply and for the private message.

Unfortunately I was unable to relate to your instructions concerning buttons 'BL/TL/BR' and so was unable to progress. However, I decided to try the action 'Remove Web Services' and to my surprise the printer printed a sheet of paper headed 'Congratulations'! Your printer is now web-connected and has it's own E mail address - which was detailed in the paper together with 'your printers claim code'. It advised me to go to hpconnected.com and create an account. Bearing in mind that I already have an account I nevertheless played along as if entering a new printer. I logged in with my existing username and password and entered the 'printers claim code' which resulted in an E mail welcoming me to HP Scan to email with a new PIN.

Armed with this information i tried scan to email again and am pleased to say that it is working.
