Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 7740 printer. I just downloaded and installed the latest drivers and restarted my laptop. When I try to install the HP Smart app, I keep getting a message that they are trying to install on my device but it doesn't install. Can you help?

HP Smart for Windows is an application that is available in the Windows Store.

 

If the application won't download / install, make sure the Windows Store is working as expected.

 

Help for Windows Store applications:

Microsoft - I can't find or install an app from Microsoft Store

 

If the application is already installed, it can be removed (uninstalled) from

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

After / If you remove the application, Restart the computer and log in.

Once the application is uninstalled and you have checked / verified the Store is working, try again.
