Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Got an email last week that notified my that HP has some policy changes.  Unless I consent to agree I could not continue to use my scanner.  I did not agree to have HP download my scanner information to share with other companies to market their

technology to me.  Too many companies these days want to know too much about everyone.    I have had a terrible time  trying to contact HP and register my complaint.   I have owned this  printer for several years and now they think it okay to disable 

my scanner.  Seems unconstitutional at least!   Are there any others that have dealt with this?

@tims I understand your concern and I will bring your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.

Although, I'll need some private information from you in order to create a case for you.
