We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I bought 3 weeks ago this new printer. The sanning is not working. I tried to install the software.  Eveytime is mentioned go to 123.hp.com. I do all those steps, but nothing is working.

Can somedody help me out!

The HP Smart application, does not support Scan to PC. For this function, please install the full drivers and software for your printer on your computer.

Please use HP OfficeJet 5200 series Full Drivers and Software to install the printer.

In case of need, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What is the exact model of your printer (e.g. CB747A)?
To locate this Product Number P/N: this document.

 

What operating system are you under? (e.g. Windows 10 or macOS 10.14)


Windows:
In order to solve this issue, please check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service to see if it is working properly by doing the following:

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows flag and the R key simultaneously. The Run window opens.
  2. Type services.msc and OK. The Services (local) window opens.
  3. Double-click on Windows Image Acquisition, then click on the Connection tab.
  4. Check Local System Account and Allow the service to interact with the office.
  5. Click on the Dependencies tab and check that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Kernel Hardware Detection exist in the first window.
  6. Click on the General tab, and restart the service by clicking on Stop, then Start.
  7. Close the Services window.
  8. Try to scan with HP Scan.

 

If the Kernel hardware detection dependency does not exist, please add it as follows:

  1. Simultaneously press the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  2. Click the Start menu, then All Programs, and then Accessories folder.
  3. Right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator, and Yes.
  4. Type the following command, followed by the Enter key:
    • Sc config stisvc depend=rpcss/ShellHWDetection
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Try to scan.

Hey Mans, thanks for your help! I have Windows 10. Model printer M2U84B

the Kernel hardware detection dependency does not appear in the first window. So I tried to open flag + R key, but then you have to typ something. I can't lick on a start button to find All programs

The Kernel hardware detection dependency does not exist, please add it as follows:

  1. Simultaneously press the Windows flag and the X key.
  2. Click Windows PowerShell (Admin), and then Yes.
  3. Type the following command, followed by the Enter key:
    • Sc config stisvc depend=rpcss/ShellHWDetection
  4. Restart the computer.
  5. Try to scan.

Please use HP OfficeJet 5200 series Full Drivers and Software to install the printer.

my HP printer will not scan to my HP pc.. HP offer little help, HP Smart will install only in Turkish, every time I uninstall and reinstall .... sigh .... anyone able to help?

Try adding the dependency as follows:

  1. Click Start menu, then Windows System folder.
  2. Right-click Command Prompt, then More, and then Run as administrator, and Yes.
  3. Type the following command, followed by the Enter key:
    • Sc config stisvc depend=rpcss/ShellHWDetection
  4. Restart the computer.
  5. Try to scan.

Thanks, I already did that while talking to HP guy via Facebook. It took hours and achieved nothing! Also the HP Smart comes up in Turkish every time I install it, which doesn't help. I am just about to give up as I am losing the will to live.
