Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

All of a sudden, I can't scan to email from my computer. It kept giving a user name and password error. So I changed the email password through google, but how do I change the password on my printer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Kindly try to login to the webmail and check if the credentials you are using are correct. Do not use autofill.
  • Check if you are able to send and receive emails.
  • Is Google your email provider?
  • Have you setup two-factor authentication on the account?
  • You will have to change the password on the Google account, not on the printer.

To know how to setup scan to email feature on the printer, kindly refer to page 42 of the user guide.
