HP Envy 5020 printer

I believe I can’t find scanned documents because ‘webscan’ is disabled, however when I click the ‘settings ‘ tab to change this I am advised the website may be an imposter and poses a security threat so I don’t proceed. Is there any way round this?  Thanks

It is OK -

The Redirect message is your browser trying to protect you from doing something it considers a risk.

Browser cannot understand your internal network to which your printer is connected and it "throws up hands and panics".

Explained here

Section FAQ > What if I get security warnings when changing settings

For those reading -

Unrelated to the security message, the first time you try to use WebScan it may refuse.

Webscan may not be enabled by default - check / enable Web Scan in EWS > Settings > Security > Administrative Settings

EWS_9025_Settings_Security_Administrator_WebscanEWS_9025_Settings_Security_Administrator_Webscan

Webscan is used from within EWS

Options vary a bit by printer, though in general many more scan options are available using Scan software on the computer.

Load your document / image to be scanned

Adjust the settings as available

Scan the object

Use "Save-As" to save the scan to a location of your choice as available

Examples

EWS_Webscan_2EWS_Webscan_2

EWS_Webscan_1BEWS_Webscan_1B
