Incorrect credentials after updating to macOS Catalina

macOS 10.15 Catalina

I get incorrect credentials error when scanning to network folder.  All passwords checked and rechecked.  All permissions checked.  Clock checked and reset.  New pathways and folders tried.  Different host computer tried.  All hp software removed and re-installed.  New hp app installed.  Tried terminal sudo fix.  No change.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the scanning issue. 

 

Make sure the Mac is updated to 10.15.3. You may refer to this document for steps to update the Mac - How to update the software on your Mac

 

This issue could be due to date and time mismatch between the printer and computer. On the newer devices, the time zone is predetermined as GMT and you have to set the time on the printer as GMT but matching your time in your time zone. 

 

Also, when you set up a Network path you only need to put the shared folder and not the entire path. macOS sets up shared folders at the root. For example my scan shared folder is located in /Users/Shared/Scans. But the network path is \\computername.domain\Scans

I have already tried your suggestions.  I used "synchronize now with this computer" function on printer web page already, did not work.  The pathway worked before the upgrade to catalina, it is the correct format.  I even used terminal to reset some mac features.  I'm now using my time shopping for printers.  The epson eco tank printers are amazingly cheap to operate.  0.3 cents page B/W and 1.0 cent color.  Just need to sell my three HP printers and cancel instant ink subscription.

Appreciate you trying the steps. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding this issue, they should be able to resolve it by taking a remote access.
