I've tried the recommendations from the HP forum to turn on the printer.  Nothing worked.  I've removed the power adapter and the light comes on.  How do I check if I need a new power adapter.  There are three wires coming from the adapter, red, green and blue.  Which is the 32 Volt and which is the 12 volt?  Is Green negative?

Yes most likely green is ground/negative.   Now just check the other two.  Whatever is 12v is 12 volts, 32 must be the other.

The diagram on the adapter indicates blue as +32V/12V.  The green indicates ground.  The red indicates a moon phase "(" or Waxing gibbous.  I don't know if the voltage is AC or DC.  When I checked it with a volt meter on AC the red and green is 71.1 volts.  The red and blue is 66.4 volts.  The blue and green is 0.  When I checked it on DC, red and green is 1,  the red and blue is 1 and the blue and green is 0.58.

None of this makes any sense.

The green wire is ground.

The red wire connects to 32v/12v.

The black is connected to the "cresent moon".

When the cresent moon is shorted to the ground, the 32/12 will be 12v.

When the cresent moon is not connected, the 12/32 will be 32v.

Hope this helps.
