hp officejet pro 6978

I bought a all in one hp officejet 6978 for our home office for my husband's business.  We need it to copy and print, obviously, but most importantly, we need to scan and save documents.  I had an old Dell laptop that would not connect to the device.  So I bought a hp Chromebook.  It will only scan if I do it web based, and that needs to be set up again each time I use it.  I want to buy a laptop that will let me hit "scan" "to Computer" on the printer and it will automatically do it.  I am not hugely computer savvy, but can do enough.  My husband can only do the basics.  What can I buy that will be most compatible and one touch scanning?

Sorry, I am not a fan of Mac machines therefore my suggestion is a Windows computer, any machine on market today will do the job. I believe your printer is already connected to your office. All you have to do:

(a) Run Setup from the CD to install printer software and drivers to you new computer,

(b) Select wireless then follow on screen instructions

Now on your printer control panel, it should show a list with the name of your computer when press Scan button

Regards.
