I have been having trouble with the scanner on my HP Envy 7640. I am trying to scan to my email. The correct email address comes up and I get a message that the email was successfully sent, but I am not receiving an eprint email with my documents. I have tried shutting down my printer/scanner and computer, but I am still having issues. Any ideas?

Scan to Email uses your email address and an installed mail program on your computer.
Windows Mail and Outlook are examples of installed email programs. Web based email programs are not "installed" email programs. For example, if you use your Web Browser to access your email, this is not an email program installed on the computer.
Scan to Email is supported on this printer.
If you have not done so, please download, save, and install the Full Feature Software for your printer.
After the software is fully installed, Restart the computer and log in.
Options to configure - Mail
Add the email address you want to use to an installed mail program on the computer. "Installed" email programs include Outlook, Windows Mail, and a third party supported email program like "Thunderbird". Configure the email program to send / receive mail. For POP mail clients (like Thunderbird), adjust the SMTP settings as required for your mail provider.
Options to configure - Scan-to-Email - Printer Assistant
After the print software is installed, the Printer Assistant shortcut icon is added on your Desktop. The shortcut is named for your printer.
Open the Printer Assistant (it takes a few seconds to open the software)
Select tab Scan
Click Scan to E-mail Wizard
Follow the prompts, Apply, and Test
Option to configure - Embedded Web Server (EWS)
EWS can be started from withinPrinter Assistant > tab Print > Printer Home Page (EWS)
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Apply and Test
Although the test option will likely work "stand alone", it may be necessary that you open your Mail program when you are using Scan to Email.
If you have already successfully added your email address to an installed mail program and tested the setup, you may need to start the email program and have it running at the same time as you are using Scan to Email. Outlook seems to work this way. Start Outlook, make sure it is set to send / receive mail, leave the program running. Open your Scan-to-Email scan program, select the image / document and other options, select "Send to email" and scan.
