Dell Inspiron 7500 2 in 1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased a new Dell 7500 Inspiron laptop computer yesterday. I connected the printer wirelessly with no problems.  My Officejet 3830 worked fine. Everything worked. Then after about an hour I went back in my office to start back to scanning; the scanner would not when I fed a paper into the feeder. After running the HP diagnostics, it said "Web scan disabled by the administer". It further said "Unable to retrieve list of drivers for your product". "NO scanner driver" "Windows (wia) scan error". As I was reading this blog, one of your technicians had a "fix".  To para phrase:

1. Select your HP printer

2. Select Uninstall

3. In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5. In the Devices and Printer windows look for your printer. If you see it listed, right click on it and choose Delete or remove device.

6. Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R key combo.

7. Type printui.exe /s

8. Click on the "Drivers" tab

9. Look for the HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

WHEN I DID THAT, THIS IS WHAT IT SAID:

"Unable to remove. HP officejet 3830 series, X64, Type 3 - user mode driver. The specified printer driver is currently in use".

I COULD NOT GO ANY FURTHER.....

I have never had this problem with any other computer I hooked this up to. I NEED HELP. IS THERE  A FIX FOR THIS?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Check out this resource on how to enable Webscan (That's how a Chromebook scans - via Webscan)

Hope that helps!

I am an HP Employee. Although I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
