Hi , my hip office jet 3831 is about 3 years old and was working perfectly . I didn’t use it for about 20 days. when I tried to use it shows me “carriage jam” continuously from a week . It prints half page then shows this message. Even when there is nothing jammed inside. I tried to clean it properly but there was nothing. I tried to turn it off , plugs off .. turn on . It didn’t worth.
Corona virus stop me to let kids out and printer make them free from homework.
Please someone help me.

Have you tried inserting another set of cartridges?
Remove the cartridges, reset the Printer and the put the Printer back in.
Also, let's try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168
