Photosmart C6380 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I used to be able to import pictures from the printer into software programs on my computer, but this no longer works.  I also used to be able to scan pictures to a flash drive or memory card.  Now the printer says that no drive or card is inserted although there is a drive or card inserted.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer is unable to import pictures from the printer into the software on your computer. Also, you're unable to scan pictures to a flash drive or memory card. The printer says that no drive or card is inserted although there is a drive or card inserted.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • When was the last time the printer recognized memory cards and a flash drive? Did any updates happen for the printer after which this issue started?
  • Is the printer able to print and scan otherwise?

Meanwhile, I did some research and I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

The printer supports the following memory cards:

Memory card slots: Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Select, Memory Stick Magic Gate, Memory Stick Duo or Duo Pro (adapter optional), or Memory Stick Micro (adapter required), MultiMediaCard (MMC), MMC Plus, Secure MultiMedia Card, MMC Mobile (RS-MMC; adapter required), Secure Digital (SD), Secure Digital Mini, Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC), TransFlash MicroSD Card (adapter required), or xD-Picture card, CompactFlash (CF) types I and II.

USB port: Rear hi-speed, front PictBridge port for storage devices and optional HP USB Bluetooth adaptor

If the issue still persists, please perform the steps as described in detail from this link: http://hp.care/2nsZoH3

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Cheers!
