It may be too late as you may have replaced your printer but I had a similar problem this last 3 months and I just figured it out. I was totally unable to print from my printer but I was able to see it. I have two Comcast bandwidths 2.4 and 5. I think my default has always been 2.4 but at some point it jumped over to 5. The HP8720 does not see bandwidths above 2.4. I didn't even know that was relative and no support pages I've read mentioned this. Once I set my  internet back to 2.4 and set it to be automatic and I unchecked the set to automatic on the 5. It works perfect. My brother, an IT person worked on this remotely for an hour and did not figure it out. I hope this helps someone. I've been printing to my boss's printer for 3 months and walking into the next room each time to get my documents.
