I have the same problem I instatlled a new router and my printer works fine but it will not scan. I downloaded and ran the above program but i got this error message. 7-Zip   Unable to create folder to extract webpack!

I have no idea what that menas. What do I try next?

Hi,

 

Can you try HP Smart to see if it can scan?

 

Go to WIndows Store and download HP Smart apps.  Ad dthe printer and you should be able to scan.

 

Alternatively, try Webscan.

 

This resource will show you how it's done:

(Webscan is generic and supports Chromebook as well as WIndows OS through the Internet browsers)

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

 

Try this standalone software:

 

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Thank you for responding to my post. I installed the Scan Extended software without problem however when I try to open it the message says “ scanning cannot communicate....”. I checked everything it suggested, including the IP address. Nothing appears to be wrong on my printer panel. Wireless everything is connected to the router and says it is working. All functions except for the scanner is working. 

I just paid $60 for a service technician to reset our TiVo box so the tv would work, I cannot reinstall the router and incur this expense again. I need my scanner but I am at witts end. I have tried everything suggested on the internet and HP help sites.  Also when I go to the scanner on the printer panel it says everything is working and connected.
