HP Officejet Pro 8620

I have been using this particular printer since August 2019 and have never had an issue.  I have to scan to email weekly reports to my boss and for some reason last week it said "username or password is incorrect. Make sure both user account and password are valid."  I cancelled Instant Ink the day before at my bosses request and i hope that has nothing to do with this error.  I have not changed any email addresses or passwords so I have no idea how to fix this problem.

Hi @Amanda1384

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Which email client are you using?

Try logging into your webmail and check if it takes your credentials. Do not use auto-fill.

If you have Yahoo or Gmail account,

Go to Account Settings.

Look for "Allow less secure app" > Enable this option.

Then look for "2 Step Verification" > Disable this option.

If you would like to make any changes to the scan to email profile, you may watch this video.

For more info, refer to this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
