LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I have had a M276nw for many years now with no past issues. Recently, though, my HP will no longer scan to a network folder. None of my settings have changed (computer IP address, network folder name, sharing permissions, username/password, etc.), but when I try to scan to folder from the M276nw, I get the following error on the screen:

"Cannot connect to \\192.168.7.xxx\Scans. Ensure the shared folder name is correct."

I then logged into the HP printer settings through my browser and tested the scan to network folder information. When I test the settings, I get the following error:

"Username or password is incorrect. Ensure both user account and password are valid."

I know my username and password are correct. I have tried deleting the folder and re-creating, restarting both computer and printer, etc., but have had no luck. Initially when setting up this scan to folder when I first got the printer, I used the instructions below. Again, nothing has changed, so I'm not sure what the problem can be.

@brasskey

Thank you for your patience. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

You may go to Setup on the printer screen > Service > Check for updates.

Go to the EWS page of the printer using your browser, kindly enter the username and password for the user account you are logged into on the MAC.

You can find the correct username by going to System Preferences  > Users & Groups.

The username and password are case sensitive. Make sure to enter the credentials as it appears.

Try scanning.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I already have the latest firmware and, as I mentioned in my post, my username and password are correct. They haven't changed. So, this doesn't help. It seems as though it's an issue with my shared folder (not username/password) as indicated by error message.

Could you try creating a new folder and sharing it?

Once the folder is shared, try scanning.

Keep me posted.

I tried creating a new folder and I get the same error message - "Cannot connect to the network folder. Ensure the shared folder name is correct."

Thanks for replying! I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.

I would recommend you create a new user account on your computer and try adding the printer with a shared folder to scan.

Keep me posted.

Setting up a new user account did not solve the issue.
