We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I could need some help or advice for the following error message:

Error on Scanner. Scanning, copying or sending fax not possible. Press "OK".

(translated from German, thus real error message in English might be slightly different)

I received a communication error as well.

Sorry, only in German, but you might realize this one: Scanner error

What I tried so far:

- restart PC

- check all paper feeders

- reinstalling complete software

--> nothing helped

 

Any clue, what might cause this error?

I am using Windows 10, 64-bit

Hi  @PrintDoctor,

 

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Scanner Error" 

 

To better assist you - Are you able to make copies using the pinter?

 

Meanwhile, Let's try a power reset on the printer.

 

step1.Reset the product

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

step 2. The lift the lid and try and make a copy and check if the scanner bar lights up and if it moves.

 

If it does then download  and install HP Print and Scan Doctor on your computer to diagnose and fix the issue
