The scanner seems not to be working, printer is fine printing but no scanner. I even put in new ink carts but even when i place my align sheet in to be scanned to set up the scanner still does not work at all. please help, I have updated firmware and reinstalled drivers and software. scanner still not working

Are you able to copy a document?
If the printer is not able to copy a document, then the scanner might be defective.
Try power of and power on and ensure that the scanner lid is closed when powering on.
