Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

This poblem has persisted over a variety of printers, pc's and OS. Please note it has nothing to do with Windows 10 as it has been going on for years. I have seen many complaints on line in that time that have not been solved.

The solution usually given is to download latest software. As others have said, the latest software is already installed and redoing this sometimes makes it work temporarily, but sometimes makes no difference. The scan feature disappears if one right clicks the printer, the printer cannot find the laptop, and the laptop will sometimes say the printer is not there - all this even though there is no problem printing and the computer shows the printer is connected when printing. I have deleted the software and reloaded - same result, loaded with USB, same result. Best was getting a fixed the IP address, but even that didn't last. Any help?

Hello and welcome to the HP Forums!

Well in this case as you have already installed latest drivers so that seems like it should be problem with static ip address.

Your printer keeps dropping connection to wifi and that causes printer to stop working as a scanner.

What you may try:-

1. Reconnect the printer to wifi.

2. Get Router ip address from ISP and then change settings on router page and assign static ip to yor printer.
