When scanning to the pc, the scan preview is fine but when the scan arrives at the pc it consists of numerous partial scans instead of a single image.  i have tried the print and scan doctor and a test scan from this was ok.  I'm on Windows 10.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Were you trying to scan a document and "Save as JPEG"?

If the answer is "Yes", there are some settings you need to change on your scan software.

Start up the Scan Software (from the computer) and select "Save as JPEG".

Go to" Advanced Settings" and ensure that the Item type is a" Document" and the Auto Crop is unchecked.

Scan the document.  It should not be broken in multiple pieces.

Next try the "Scan to Computer" with the same document.  It should be working now.

Point to note :

The "Scan to Computer" remembers the last (saved) settings on the software, hence you need to change that settings on the software before you can scan to computer properly.

For more scanning tips, click here.

Hope that helps!

Scanning Multiple photos:

(HP Officejet Pro 8630)

Different printer but it is using the similar scan software and it will show you where the Advanced Settings are.
